One who is thankful gives to others the inner smile of thankfulness

We who trust in God, and are truly thankful,
should leave behind a smile on the faces of people we meet.
The way of God is happiness.
Shams of Tabriz said:
“The steps of the people of God are subtle and light.
They walk like a leaf on the water.
Yet on the inside they are like a mountain.”
Those who wish to undertake this work
might leave at least one person unexpectedly smiling each day.
Let this task be a moment of awakening,
lifting us above our numb routines and predictable habits,
into a state of God-consciousness.
