Sufism is, more than anything else, the education and purification of the heart. The heart is that which truly knows. The heart is not some vague metaphor, but an objective faculty of the soul, the center of the psyche, the threshold between the ego and spirit, the site of inner revelation. The awakening and purification of the heart is what all spirituality is about. In Sufism, the light of remembrance clears the heart so that our contact with the Divine Reality is restored. Take a pause of heart several times a day. Stop what you are doing and check in with your heart. Bring your thinking and feeling into the boundless heart space. Much of human foolishness is the result of our mind and emotion being divorced from our heart.
