Many believers say one or both of the following optional prayers after the Salawat and before the closing (As Salaamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatulaah):
Rabbanagh atina fid’dunya hasanatan
wa fil’akhirati hasanatan
wa qna adhabannar
O Allah, grant us goodness both in this world
and in the world to come,
and protect us from the pain of the fire.
Rabbanagh frli wa li walidiyya
wa lil mu’minina
ywma yaquml hisab
O my God, forgive my sins
and those of my parents and those of the faithful
when the day of reckoning shall come.
After the closing (As Salaamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatulaah) and before greeting other worshippers, the following can be recited eleven times each:
Subhanallah
God is Pure.
Alhamdulillah
Praise be to God.
Allahu Akbar
God is the most Great.
