The notion of Sufism as a remedy for the alienation and addictions of modern life is a theme picked up by Kabir when he shares his vision for the future. He calls it “Sufism 3.0”: A model in which Islam is the operating system and Sufism is the software. He explains: “The Sufism being born in America will not be a museum-like recreation of the past, but will be a new expression and application of traditional wisdom within our own cuture.”
